About
Product Manager Skills is Dean Peters' community library of product-management skills, installed here as one Claude Code plugin. Each skill teaches your agent a named PM framework and the reasoning behind it, so it can do the work with you and explain why. Interactive skills ask a few questions about your context, then recommend a path; workflow skills run whole processes such as discovery, a PRD or a roadmap. What its skills cover - Framing and strategy: MITRE's Problem Framing Canvas, Geoffrey Moore positioning statements and full strategy sessions - Discovery: Mom Test-style interview prep, opportunity solution trees, jobs to be done and a complete discovery cycle - Delivery: PRDs, user stories with Gherkin acceptance criteria, epic breakdowns with Richard Lawrence's split patterns, and user story maps with release slices - Prioritization and roadmaps: it picks RICE, ICE, Kano or another framework for your context, then sequences the roadmap - Stakeholders: identification, power and interest mapping, and engagement plans for each person - Market and competitive intelligence: landscape scans, competitive snapshots, battle cards, SWOT, Porter's Five Forces and TAM/SAM/SOM sizing - Finance and growth: SaaS health diagnostics, unit economics, and pricing and feature investment advice - Aging products and careers: extend, replace or retire plays, end-of-life planning, and coaching for Director and VP/CPO transitions - AI product work: context engineering, agent orchestration and AI readiness How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add deanpeters/Product-Manager-Skills, then /plugin install product-manager-skills@pm-skills and /reload-plugins. The same marketplace also offers each skill as its own plugin (for example /plugin install user-story-mapping@pm-skills); install the whole library or single skills, not both. Claude Desktop and Claude Web users can upload the skill ZIPs from the repository's releases, and Codex has its own pack there. Good to know - It's a community project by Dean Peters, not a vendor's product. - The skills guide your agent's thinking and writing; they don't connect to Jira, Linear or other tools. - Some market-research skills use your agent's web search when it has one.
