What Headcount Marketing does

About

The marketing department from Chris Brock's headcount project, which packages a company's functions as plugins you install one at a time. Its 19 skills teach your agent how to make marketing decisions and do the work, from positioning and budgets to copy, content, social, video, PR, partnerships and launches. Each skill is written guidance with checklists and things never to do, and most list outside sources to check and cite, such as the FTC's rules on advertising claims and endorsements. What it teaches your agent - Positioning and messaging: the buyer's real alternative, the segment that cares most and the market frame, then a one-liner, value pillars with proof, and objection handling - Marketing plans and campaigns: objectives, channel mix, budget, sequencing and measurement, plus a chief marketing officer skill for calls that cross teams - Copy and content: website, pricing, ad and email copy, a brand voice captured from real writing, content strategy and an editorial pipeline - Social posts, newsletters and video: hooks, formatting for each platform, subject lines, YouTube titles and thumbnails, scripts and retention - Launches, PR and events: tiering a launch, readying sales and support before the announcement, earned media, crisis response, conferences and webinars - Customer research and behavioral marketing: interviews, surveys, win-loss and message tests, and how framing, defaults and social proof change choices How it works - Skills load themselves when a request matches, or you call one by name, such as /marketing:positioning-and-messaging in Claude Code - In Claude Code, add the marketplace with /plugin marketplace add cbrock84/headcount, then run /plugin install marketing@headcount - The maker also documents the same skills for ChatGPT and Codex, through the repository's plugin marketplace or by copying them into .agents/skills/ Good to know - It doesn't change your project: no dependencies, no scripts, and nothing runs on its own. - Some skills point to other headcount departments, such as legal-risk for privacy questions; those install separately. - A community project, MIT-licensed.
