About
ServiceNow's own plugin for building ServiceNow applications as code with the ServiceNow SDK and Fluent, its TypeScript-based language for app metadata. It adds one skill, now-sdk, which loads when you mention ServiceNow, Fluent or the now-sdk, or work in a project with a now.config.json. Instead of guessing at Fluent syntax, your agent reads the documentation shipped with the SDK version in your project, and checks your live instance, before it writes code. What its skill teaches your agent - Get oriented first: read the SDK's quickstart and Fluent language docs for each project before editing anything - Look up guidance on demand with explain: metadata types such as Table, BusinessRule, Acl, Flow, ScriptInclude, ClientScript and UiPolicy, workflows like build, transform, deploy and auth, and conventions for naming, structure and scoping - Query your instance with query: look up a sys_id, inspect a table's columns, check whether a record already exists, and fetch choice values, roles and scope info - Read each command's --help before using it, rather than guessing flags - Never delete a Table(), BusinessRule() or Record() definition without asking you first, since a deletion may need to reach the instance through keys.ts How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin install servicenow-sdk@claude-plugins-official, then /reload-plugins. ServiceNow also documents setup for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Kiro and other coding agents. Good to know - It needs @servicenow/sdk 4.6.0 or newer in your project; live queries need 4.8.0 or newer. - Queries are read-only, and run against an instance you've signed in to with npx @servicenow/sdk auth --add, using basic auth or OAuth.
