About
Agent Skills is Addy Osmani's pack of engineering skills for AI coding agents, built with Federico Bartoli and Joan León. Each skill is a structured workflow with steps, verification gates and a table of the excuses agents use to skip steps, drawing on practices from Software Engineering at Google and Google's engineering practices guide. What you can do with it - /spec: write a PRD covering objectives, structure, code style, testing and boundaries before any code - /plan: break the spec into small, verifiable tasks with acceptance criteria - /build: build in thin vertical slices, test-first, committing as you go; /build auto runs the whole plan after you approve it once - /test: red-green-refactor, plus browser testing through Chrome DevTools MCP - /constraints: set a quality bar and write it to CONSTRAINTS.md - /review: a five-axis review before merge (in Claude Code, /agent-skills:review) - /webperf: a Core Web Vitals audit - /code-simplify: reduce complexity without changing behaviour - /ship: pre-launch checklists, staged rollouts and rollback plans Its skills also load on their own: designing an API brings in api-and-interface-design, and building UI brings in frontend-ui-engineering. Others cover debugging, security hardening, performance, git workflow, CI/CD, documentation and ADRs, observability, deprecation and migration, and interviewing you until the ask is clear. It also has reviewer personas: a code reviewer, a test engineer, a security auditor and a web performance auditor. How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add addyosmani/agent-skills, then /plugin install agent-skills@addy-agent-skills. In Codex, run codex plugin marketplace add addyosmani/agent-skills, then codex plugin add agent-skills@agent-skills. The README also covers Gemini CLI, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and more. Good to know - No sign-in: the skills run inside your agent. - The lifecycle slash commands are Claude Code commands; in other agents you call the skills by name. - It's MIT licensed.
