About
Prisma's own plugin for Claude. It connects your agent to Prisma's MCP server, so you can manage Prisma Postgres databases, Prisma Compute deployments and Object Storage in plain words, and look things up in the Prisma docs without leaving the chat. What you can do with it - List, create and delete Prisma Postgres databases in your workspace - Read a database's schema, run SQL against your data and apply schema updates - Manage connection strings, and restore an automated backup to a new database - List Compute apps, builds and deployments, read runtime logs, promote or roll back a deployment and set environment variables - Create Object Storage buckets and S3-compatible access keys - Ask questions about Prisma and get answers cited from the official docs How it connects - The plugin adds Prisma's remote MCP server at https://mcp.prisma.io/mcp. The first time it's used, you sign in with your Prisma account, pick a workspace and approve access. - It also adds a local server that runs through the Prisma CLI (npx prisma mcp). - It's listed in Anthropic's official Claude plugin marketplace. Good to know - You need a Prisma account and a workspace, which you can create in Prisma Console. - Prisma warns that tools which change or delete resources can cause data loss or interrupt live traffic, so check the workspace and resources before you approve an action. - The Compute tools manage apps and deployments that already exist. They don't build or upload your code; Prisma's Compute guide covers deploying something new.
