Breaks ties when you say “you pick”: your agent draws a Tarot spread with cryptographic randomness and plans from the reading.

About
Trail of Bits' playful plugin for indecisive moments. When a request is vague, or you hand the choice over with "whatever", "YOLO" or "let fate decide", your agent draws a Tarot spread with real cryptographic randomness instead of quietly picking an approach itself. It then reads the cards and uses the reading to choose a direction. What it does - Shuffles a 22-card Major Arcana deck and a 56-card Minor Arcana deck separately with Python's secrets module, then deals the 12 Houses of the Zodiac spread: one Major and two Minor Arcana cards per house, each of which may come up reversed - Reads each house and card from its own reference file and ties the spread to the task: how to begin, constraints, interfaces, testing, risks and blind spots - Breaks ties when there are several reasonable approaches, and draws new cards when you say "try again" and nothing has changed - Comes with a draw agent that keeps it short: it picks one of the options you give it, or returns three bullets on the main theme, the main risk and the next step When it steps in - Explicit asks such as "I'm feeling lucky", "let fate decide", "surprise me" or "dealer's choice" - Casual hand-offs such as "whatever", "up to you", "idk" or "wing it", and Yu-Gi-Oh lines like "heart of the cards" - It stays out of the way when your instructions are clear, when the task has one obvious answer, or when you ask it not to use Tarot How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add trailofbits/skills, then install let-fate-decide from /plugin menu. In Codex, run codex plugin marketplace add trailofbits/skills, then codex plugin add let-fate-decide@trailofbits. Good to know - The draw runs a small Python script with uv on your machine. If it fails, the agent tells you instead of making up cards. - The cards inform a choice; they don't override it. Your requirements always come first, and in security or correctness work a reading only suggests where to look next, never whether a risk is real. - It's part of Trail of Bits' open-source skills marketplace on GitHub.
Once it’s added
“I'm feeling lucky. Pick an approach for the new settings page.”
“Let fate decide: REST or GraphQL for this API?”
“I dunno, just make it work somehow.”
“Up to you: which of these three bugs should we tackle first?”
“I believe in the heart of the cards. What's next for this refactor?”
“Try again and draw new cards.”
