About
Laravel Boost is the Laravel team's toolkit for AI-assisted development. This plugin connects your agent to Boost's MCP server, which runs inside your own Laravel app, so the agent works from your real application instead of guessing: its database, its logs and errors, its URLs, and documentation for the exact package versions you have installed. What you can do with it - Read your database schema and connections, and run read-only queries (SELECT, SHOW, EXPLAIN, DESCRIBE) - Read the last backend error, recent application log entries and browser logs - Get absolute URLs for paths and named routes, so the links it writes are valid - See your PHP and Laravel versions, database engine, ecosystem packages and Eloquent models - Search Laravel's hosted documentation, matched to your installed versions of Laravel, Livewire, Inertia, Filament, Nova, Pest, Tailwind CSS and more - Record a project rule in .ai/rules when you ask it to remember a convention, so every agent on your team follows it How it connects Boost is a Composer package, so add it to your project first: composer require laravel/boost --dev, then php artisan boost:install. The plugin starts the server with php artisan boost:mcp from your project's directory. boost:install also writes Laravel's AI guidelines and Agent Skills (Livewire, Inertia, Pest, Tailwind CSS, Flux UI and more) for the agents you choose, and sets up others such as Cursor, Codex and GitHub Copilot. Good to know - Its database tool only runs read-only queries, inside a read-only transaction. - Keep its guidelines and skills current with php artisan boost:update. - Project rules are on by default; set BOOST_RULES_ENABLED=false to turn them off.
