About
Expo's official plugin for coding agents. It bundles the Expo team's agent skills, which teach your agent how to build, deploy, upgrade and debug Expo and React Native apps, with Expo's hosted MCP server for live docs and EAS. Expo's docs, Expo CLI and EAS CLI stay the source of truth; the skills help your agent apply them correctly, and your agent picks the right one from what you ask. What its skills cover - expo-overview: the starting point that routes any Expo or EAS request to the right skill - Expo Router navigation: stacks, tabs, modals, sheets and headers - Native-feeling screens, @expo/ui components (SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose), animations and gestures, and in-app design systems - Data fetching with React Query, offline support and Expo Router loaders - DOM components, moving a web React app to native, Expo native modules, brownfield apps and iOS App Clips - Expo SDK upgrades, deprecated-package migrations and dependency fixes EAS services (paid) - Building and submitting to TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play - EAS Workflows for CI/CD, and EAS Update for over-the-air updates and their health - EAS Hosting for websites and API routes, EAS Observe metrics and cloud simulators Each services skill opens with a note on costs and plan limits. How to install it In Claude Code, run claude plugin install expo@claude-plugins-official (or /plugin install expo@claude-plugins-official in a session). In Codex, run codex plugin add expo@openai-curated. For Cursor and other agents, the skills alone install with npx skills@latest add expo/skills --skill '*'. The MCP server The plugin registers Expo's hosted MCP server, which reads the latest Expo docs, adds libraries with npx expo install, runs and checks EAS builds and workflows, and pulls TestFlight crashes and feedback. It needs an Expo account: in Claude Code, run /mcp to sign in. With the expo-mcp package and a local dev server, it can also take simulator screenshots, tap views and open React Native DevTools.
