About
Carta CRM is Carta's own plugin for investment teams that use Carta CRM, Carta's CRM for private capital firms. It gives your agent read and write access to your firm's CRM through Carta's MCP server, with skills for adding, finding and updating records, preparing for meetings and finding warm introductions. What you can do with it - Add, find and update investors, companies, contacts, deals, notes and fundraising rounds, using your firm's own pipeline stages and custom fields - Move deals between stages, link contacts to a deal as introducers and log notes from a call - Research a company from its website and add it to the CRM - Run your saved CRM reports, and see deal flow analytics: where your deals come from, who introduced them, and the split by sector or geography - Get a one-page brief for your next meeting with a company, investor or person, built from what the CRM holds - Find warm introduction routes into a company through your network, with a drafted intro request - Open a CRM home view with your pipeline by stage, recent records and this week's meetings How it connects - It works through Carta's MCP server (https://mcp.app.carta.com/mcp). In Claude, add the Carta connector under Connectors and sign in with your Carta account, then install Carta CRM from the plugin directory. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector and the plugin for the whole organisation first. - In Claude Code, run /plugin install carta-crm, and sign in to Carta when you're asked the first time. Carta also publishes it in its own marketplace: /plugin marketplace add carta/plugins. - Sign-in is OAuth with your Carta login, and your agent sees only the CRM data your Carta account can see, scoped to your firm. Good to know - It's for firms that use Carta CRM: you need a Carta account with access to your firm's CRM. - It writes to your live CRM. Carta says Claude asks before creating or changing records when a request is ambiguous, so review those requests before you approve them. - Meeting briefs and route maps open as artifacts where your agent supports them, and as HTML files in Claude Code. - The plugin collects telemetry on session context, model settings and plugin activity, under Carta's privacy policy.
