About
Clay's own plugin for coding agents. It installs and signs in to the clay CLI and adds Clay's skills, so your agent can work with Clay, the go-to-market data and automation platform, from plain requests: build target lists, enrich them, query tables and run Clay's functions and workflows. Clay publishes the same plugin for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. What you can do with it - Search Clay's GTM database for companies and people, such as an account list that matches your ICP or decision-makers by title and seniority - Run Clay-managed functions and saved routines over a list, such as finding verified work emails and phone numbers - Query, export and investigate existing Clay tables: what a table does, which rows errored and where a value came from (Tables are Enterprise only) - Look up your own people, companies and deals in Audiences, and work with saved segments and signals such as job changes, funding news and new hires - Create Sequencer campaigns, draft and review their email sequences, and compare how variants perform - Sync a saved segment to ad platforms such as LinkedIn, Meta and Google as a custom audience - Plan, build and edit Clay workflows, including Claygent research steps, and check your credits before paid work How it connects - On first use, its setup skill installs the clay CLI (a native executable at ~/.local/bin/clay, or the @clay-run/cli npm package where your organization requires Node) and puts it on your PATH. - You sign in with clay login, which opens a browser to authorize the CLI. In a remote sandbox it shows a device code instead. - It includes hooks that auto-approve the plugin's own clay CLI calls and Clay skills, so you aren't asked every time. Sign-in, logout, API keys, webhooks, feedback and credit top-ups still ask first, and your own deny rules still apply. Good to know - It needs a Clay account. Enrichment and routines use your workspace's Clay credits, and searches count toward your plan's limits. - It needs an agent that can run a shell, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Clay says it doesn't work in chat apps such as claude.ai, Claude Desktop or ChatGPT. - In Claude Code it needs version 2.1.91 or later.
