The open-source AI coding agent for your terminal, desktop and IDE, with any model
OpenCode is an open-source AI coding agent for your terminal, desktop and the web, with IDE extensions. It runs several agents in parallel on the same project and works with 75+ model providers, including Claude, GPT, Gemini and local models, or your GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT Plus/Pro account. It comes with free models, and its Zen service offers models it has tested for coding agents. What you can add - MCP servers, local or hosted: `opencode mcp add` (add --global for every project), or mcp.servers in opencode.json. Hosted servers use Streamable HTTP and sign in with OAuth by default, or take headers such as an API key. - Agent Skills: folders with a SKILL.md in ~/.config/opencode/skills or .opencode/skills. It also reads ~/.claude/skills and ~/.agents/skills. How it connects It runs on your computer, so it starts local servers itself and reaches hosted ones over the internet. Pricing Free and open source under the MIT license. Other model providers may cost extra.
