About
Zapier's own plugin for coding agents. It installs Zapier's hosted MCP server, which lets your agent take real actions in the apps connected to your Zapier account, and adds four skills that take you from signing in to a working set of actions: a guided onboarding, a quick live demo, a toolkit built around your role, and health checks. What its skills do - zapier-onboard: explains Zapier MCP, gets you signed in and checks what your server already has set up ("onboard zapier") - zapier-demo: asks which app you use, has you turn on one read action, then runs it live in the chat ("show me how Zapier works") - zapier-explore: asks about your role and apps, suggests use cases as prompts, and lists the actions to turn on ("set up my Zapier toolkit") - zapier-status: a health check, an audit for duplicate or unused actions and overlaps with other MCP servers, and step-by-step troubleshooting ("zapier status") What you can do once it's set up - Draft a Gmail reply or send a Slack message to a channel - Find free time and book a Google Calendar event with the team - Add a row to a Google Sheet, or create a Jira ticket or a Linear issue - Find a HubSpot contact and log a note, or save meeting action items to Notion How to install it In Claude Code, add Zapier's marketplace with /plugin marketplace add zapier/marketplace, then /plugin install mcp@zapier. The same plugin is also in Anthropic's marketplaces (claude-plugins-official and knowledge-work-plugins) as zapier. Zapier documents it for Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI and Claude Cowork too. Other agents can connect to Zapier's hosted MCP server on its own: see the Zapier MCP listing. How it connects The plugin adds Zapier's hosted MCP server at https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect. The first time your agent uses it, you sign in to Zapier and allow access. You pick which app actions it can use at mcp.zapier.com, and connect each app's account there. Good to know - The demo starts with a read-only action, so nothing changes in your apps until you add write actions. - Each successful tool call uses two tasks from your Zapier plan; failed calls don't count. - After you add actions, you may need to restart your agent so it sees the new tools.
