About
Microsoft's Work IQ (preview) plugin connects your agent to your Microsoft 365 work data through Microsoft's hosted Work IQ MCP server, and adds a skill that teaches the agent how to use it. It covers email, calendars and meetings, Teams messages and channels, SharePoint and OneDrive files, people and contacts, and Planner tasks. It's the preview build of Microsoft's Work IQ plugin, and Microsoft says its features and APIs may change. What you can do with it - Gather work context from SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Outlook, with citations, for your agent to summarize or build on - Ask Microsoft 365 Copilot, or one of your organization's own agents, for its answer - List and read email, meetings, Teams channels, OneDrive folders and people, such as someone's direct reports - Send and reply to email, create calendar events, accept or decline meetings, and mark or move messages - Download files and attachments - Find and work with Microsoft Business Applications records, such as CRM, ERP and Power Apps data in Dataverse How it connects In GitHub Copilot CLI, run /plugin marketplace add microsoft/work-iq, then /plugin install workiq-preview@work-iq. The package also ships Claude and Codex plugin manifests. It connects to Microsoft's hosted Work IQ MCP server at https://workiq.svc.cloud.microsoft/mcp and signs in with your Microsoft 365 work account. It doesn't run a local server. Good to know - It's a preview. Some of its retrieval depends on what your tenant has turned on. - Microsoft says each user needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, on top of a Microsoft 365 base license such as E3, E5 or Business Premium. - A tenant administrator has to consent to Work IQ's permissions once. If you aren't one, the consent prompt asks you to contact your admin. - Its skill asks you to confirm before it sends, changes or deletes anything. - Microsoft keeps its app-specific Microsoft 365 MCP servers (Calendar, Mail, Teams and others) for backward compatibility and points new projects to Work IQ MCP.

Two paired skills for email triage: teach it how you handle mail once, then it sorts new mail and drafts replies that it never sends.
Lets your agent search and read your Gmail or Outlook mail, save drafts, manage Inbox Zero's automation rules and check your email stats.
