Slack's own plugin for coding agents. It connects your agent to Slack's hosted MCP server, so it can search your workspace, read channels and threads, and send messages and canvases. It also adds Slack skills and slash commands, for everyday Slack work and for building Slack apps. What you can do with it - Search messages, files, channels and people, in public and private channels - Read channels and follow threads, then summarize what happened - Send, schedule and draft messages, and add reactions - Create, read and update canvases - Draft an announcement, write your standup from your recent Slack activity, or get a digest of several channels - Build Slack apps: scaffold one with the Slack CLI and Bolt, design and validate Block Kit layouts, look up Web API methods and their scopes, test an app in a developer sandbox, and deploy it to Railway or Heroku Its skills and commands - Skills: slack-messaging, slack-search, slack-api, slack-docs, slack-cli, create-slack-app, test-slack-app, deploy-slack-app and block-kit. They load on their own when a request calls for them. - Commands: /slack:summarize-channel, /slack:find-discussions, /slack:draft-announcement, /slack:standup and /slack:channel-digest. How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin install slack@claude-plugins-official. In Cursor, run /add-plugin slack. In Codex, run codex plugin marketplace add slackapi/slack-skills-plugin, then codex plugin add slack@slack. The skills alone install in other coding agents with npx skills add slackapi/slack-skills-plugin. How it connects The Slack MCP server is set up when the plugin loads, and you sign in to your Slack workspace with OAuth the first time it's used. The server connection works in Claude Code and Cursor. In Codex and other agents the plugin installs the skills only, so slack-search, which needs the server, won't work there. Good to know - Your Slack workspace admin must approve the MCP integration before you can sign in. - Most of the skills work without the MCP server; only slack-search needs it.
