MoAI Lawyer

MoAI Lawyer (법무 담당) is modu-ai's legal-work plugin for small Korean businesses and startups. It works in Korean and is built around Korean law. Its skills help your agent review contracts and NDAs, check compliance, research Korean statutes and court decisions, and search patents and trademarks. What it produces is reference material and drafts for review: modu-ai says it doesn't replace a lawyer, and its skills mark what they couldn't verify instead of guessing. What you can do with it - Review a contract, terms of service or privacy policy clause by clause, with where each issue sits, what it means for you and a suggested edit or question - Triage an NDA from your side: what counts as confidential, the exceptions, how long it lasts, and the return and damages clauses - Look up Korean statutes, court decisions and administrative rules in their official text, and check which version applied on a given date - Build a pre-launch checklist of the Korean laws that may apply to an app, website or online shop - Search trademarks and patents in Korean, US, Japanese and European official databases, with a search log and risk notes - Check MFDS (식약처) recall and safety information for medicines and foods - Keep track of several registry certificates from the Supreme Court's Internet Registry Office (IROS), while you log in and pay yourself How it connects - Add the modu-ai/moai-cowork marketplace in Claude and install moai-lawyer. modu-ai also documents installing it in ChatGPT Work through a workspace admin. - Law research uses korean-law, a third-party open-source MCP server (chrisryugj/korean-law-mcp) that the plugin reaches at mcp.gomdori.app. It needs your own free OC key from law.go.kr. - Patent and trademark searches use moai-mcp-ip, modu-ai's own server, which runs on your computer with uv. Add keys only for the offices you need: KIPRIS Plus, USPTO, JPO or EPO. - Without these connections, its skills use the official websites and say which sources they couldn't check. Good to know - It answers in Korean and covers Korean law; its overseas reach is limited to the patent and trademark databases. - It includes two subagents: legal-researcher does the work, and risk-auditor is a read-only reviewer that rechecks citations, risk ratings and missing issues. - It's a community project by modu-ai (모두의 AI), not a law firm or government service.
