About
A community-built MCP server by Christoph Kieslich (chrisdoc) for the Hevy workout tracking app. It isn't made by Hevy. It lets your agent read, analyze, create and update your Hevy workouts, routines, exercise templates and body measurements through Hevy's API. What you can do with it - Summarize your recent training and body-measurement trends in one call - Find workouts, routines and exercises, and look up your past sets for an exercise - Log a completed workout, or create and update routines and routine folders - Create custom exercise templates - Record and update dated body measurements How it connects It runs on your machine with npx -y hevy-mcp and needs Node.js 20 or newer. It needs a Hevy API key in HEVY_API_KEY. Hevy only offers API keys with Hevy PRO; you create one in Hevy's settings. The server checks the key when it starts and stops if Hevy rejects it. The maker also runs a hosted endpoint at https://mcp.hevy-mcp.dev/mcp, where you send your key as a bearer token or paste it once on its sign-in page. Good to know - Create and update tools change your Hevy account. There are no delete tools, and a retried create can make a duplicate, so use your agent's tool confirmations if it has them. - The install steps here use version 3.2.1, the version in the MCP Registry. The maker's newest release is on npm as hevy-mcp. - The npm package sends usage telemetry about its tool calls, such as tool names and error types, to the maker's own collector and to Sentry. The maker says it leaves out your workout content and measurement values. Newer versions let you turn it off with HEVY_MCP_TELEMETRY=0. - It works with your training log. What your agent says about that data isn't medical advice.
