About
K-12 Education is Anthropic's plugin of agent skills for teachers, the same skills that come with Claude for Teachers. Parts of it were developed with Learning Commons to keep classroom materials grounded in academic standards. What you can do with it - Build a classroom-ready lesson plan for math, ELA, science or social studies, with student materials and an observation template, aligned to standards and optionally to your own curriculum - Adapt an existing lesson into versions for students below, at and above proficiency, and for specific student needs, keeping the core content the same across tiers - Prepare to teach a lesson you already have: it works through the key student task with you and leaves a short prep note for you only - Make a check for understanding for a math topic or standard: one to three items whose wrong answers come from documented misconceptions, plus a guide that maps each likely response to a next step How to install it - In Claude for Teachers, the skills are already installed. - In Claude Code, clone github.com/anthropics/k12-teacher-skills, run claude plugin marketplace add ./k12-teacher-skills, then claude plugin install k12-education@k12-teacher-skills. Good to know - The plugin also lists teacher tools' MCP servers you can turn on: ASSISTments, Brisk Teaching, Canva, Coteach, Diffit, Eedi, MagicSchool, Snorkl and TeachFX. Each is run by its own company and signs in with your account there. - The skills are written to use the Learning Commons Knowledge Graph connector, which Claude for Teachers includes. - The repo also has the evaluation framework Anthropic uses for these skills. Apache 2.0 licensed.
