About
RiskState is a pre-trade risk API for crypto, and this is its Agent Skill. Before your agent opens or sizes a BTC/USD or ETH/USD position, it asks RiskState's policy engine how much exposure is allowed right now, which actions are blocked and why. It doesn't give trade signals, prices or predictions, and it doesn't place orders. What you can do with it - Get the current risk policy for BTC or ETH: a level from 1 (survival) to 5 (expansion), the largest position size as a share of the portfolio, and the leverage cap - See allowed and blocked actions, such as DCA, leverage or going all in - Check for structural blockers that should stop new entries, and context risks that should lower conviction - See which constraint is binding (macro, on-chain, derivatives or DeFi) and its reason codes - Pass a wallet address so DeFi borrowing health (Spark and Aave V3) feeds into the limits - Ask for the scoring breakdown behind a policy How it connects - The skill calls RiskState's REST API at api.riskstate.ai with your API key (RISKSTATE_API_KEY) as a Bearer token. - Get a key by signing up at riskstate.ai with an email address. - It works in any agent that can make HTTPS requests. Good to know - It covers BTC/USD and ETH/USD only. The assessment is USD-denominated, so cross-rate risk on other pairs isn't covered. - It applies to spot, perpetual futures and DeFi borrowing; the answer is the same, and the skill explains how to read it for each. - The policy refreshes every 60 seconds. If the API errors or times out, the skill tells your agent to assume a block and retry after a minute. - RiskState is free during its beta, with a per-minute rate limit.
