About
Econ Writing Skill is an open-source agent skill by hanlulong for writing economics papers. It distills advice from more than 50 writing guides by economists such as Cochrane, McCloskey, Shapiro and Head into guidance your agent follows. What you can do with it - Structure applied, theory, structural and descriptive papers, with formulas for the abstract, introduction, model, data and conclusion sections - Write up identification strategies such as RCTs, difference-in-differences, IV, RDD and synthetic control - Follow field conventions in macro, trade, development and finance - Apply style rules from McCloskey and Cochrane, cut generic AI-sounding phrasing, and evaluate titles - Check citations, translate coefficients into economically meaningful terms and improve tables and figures - Get a simulated three-referee review with a scoring rubric, and a pre-submission checklist - Prepare job market papers, grant proposals, referee responses, policy briefs and replication packages How it connects - It installs as an agent skill in Claude Code and Codex; the repo also has a Claude plugin and Codex plugin manifest. See its INSTALL.md for each agent. Good to know - It's part of a set with the same author's paper review skill. - It includes guidance on disclosing AI assistance under journal policies. - It's open source under the MIT licence.

Write a reviewRewrites AI-sounding text so it reads like a person wrote it, without changing what it says or making anything up.
Two documentation skills: HADS, a tagging convention people and AI both read well, and grounded vaults that trace every claim to its source.
Tw93's writing skill: rewrites and polishes Chinese or English prose so it reads naturally, cutting stiff, AI-sounding phrasing.
