What Book to Course does
About
Book to Course is an open-source skill pack by Sebastian Haba. Give your agent a book or document (EPUB, PDF, HTML, DOCX, Markdown or plain text) and it builds a beginner-friendly interactive course you run locally in a browser. What you can do with it - Turn a book into short lessons with step-by-step explanations, worked examples, diagrams and animated walkthroughs - Practise with quizzes that have hints and explanations, chapter tests and flashcards - Learn to code with exercises that come with starter code and unit tests: write the code in your editor and run the tests from the course page - Choose the course language and scope, and carry on an existing course chapter by chapter - Package a finished course as an offline Android app with course-to-apk How it works - The skill extracts the book, plans lessons by chapter and writes them into a fixed, tested course player - For coding exercises it checks that the tests fail on the starter code and pass on a reference solution before packaging the course - Open the course with start.sh or start.bat; a small local Python server saves progress to a file and runs exercise tests on your computer - Formulas written in LaTeX render in lessons, tables, quizzes and flashcards Good to know - Running a course needs Python 3; coding exercises also need that language's tools, such as Go for a Go course - The Android build needs JDK 17+ and the Android SDK build-tools; the skill checks for them first and downloads what's missing only with your consent - Installed as a Claude Code plugin from the maker's own marketplace, it also includes course-to-appimage, which packages a course as a Linux desktop app - MIT licensed
