Before you start
Install PM Marketing Growth (/plugin marketplace add phuryn/pm-skills, then /plugin install pm-marketing-growth@pm-skills). An admin must switch on Metabase's MCP server under Admin > AI > MCP. In Claude Code add it with claude mcp add --transport http metabase [your Metabase URL]/api/metabase-mcp, then authenticate from /mcp. On the consent screen untick the write, raw SQL and alerts permissions: reading content and running queries are enough. Queries run with your own Metabase permissions.
Draft the North Star
The command asks about the value you deliver, your business model and what you track now. It places the business in the attention, transaction or productivity game, tests two or three candidates against seven criteria, then picks 3 to 5 input metrics and counter-metrics, and saves a markdown framework.
Say to Claude/pm-marketing-growth:north-star [one sentence on what the product does, who pays and how]. We track [current metric] today, and I'm not sure it's right because [reason].
