Connect Figma and sign in the first time your agent uses it. The remote server works from a link, so copy the link to the frame or layer you want. You need a Dev or Full seat on a paid plan: Starter plans and View or Collab seats get only 6 tool calls a month.

Pick one small frame
Link a Card or a Header, not a whole screen. Large selections slow the tools down, cause errors or come back incomplete.

Brief your agent like a teammate
Say the framework, where the code goes, which components to reuse and how to lay it out. Asking it to change existing files keeps it from creating duplicates.
Say to Claude CodeImplement the design at [frame link] in React with Tailwind. Reuse the components in src/components/ui and edit existing files instead of creating new ones. Use flexbox for layout.

Make it use your tokens
If the code comes back with raw colours and spacing, ask for the variables the frame uses.
