About
Microsoft's Work IQ Calendar MCP Server (preview) gives your agent tools for Microsoft 365 calendars. It's one of the Microsoft-hosted, workload-specific MCP servers in Agent 365. What you can do with it - Create events, including recurring events and Teams online meetings - Get, list, update, cancel and delete events, and view a calendar over a time range - Accept or decline invitations, with an optional note to the organizer - Check free/busy schedules for people, distribution lists and rooms - Suggest meeting times based on attendees' availability How it connects Microsoft hosts it for each tenant at https://agent365.svc.cloud.microsoft/agents/tenants/{tenant_id}/servers/mcp_CalendarTools. Replace {tenant_id} with your Microsoft Entra tenant ID and add the address to your agent as a remote MCP server. It signs in with Microsoft Entra ID. Microsoft's documented routes are the Agent 365 CLI and SDK for your own agents (a365 develop add-mcp-servers mcp_CalendarTools), Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry and Visual Studio Code. Good to know - It's in preview, and Microsoft may change its tool names and parameters. - Microsoft keeps the app-specific Microsoft 365 servers (Calendar, Mail, Teams and others) for backward compatibility, and recommends Work IQ MCP for new projects. - Your tenant's admins decide which MCP servers and tools are available, in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Setting up Agent 365 tools for a tenant takes a Global Administrator, once. - Microsoft says Work IQ needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
