About
The Vercel plugin is Vercel's own plugin for coding agents. It gives your agent Vercel-specific context, a library of skills, specialist agents and slash commands, and it connects Vercel's MCP server so your agent can work with your Vercel account. What its skills cover - Deployments and CI/CD: deploy, promote, roll back and use prebuilt output, plus environment variables and domains - Vercel Functions, Routing Middleware, Queues, Workflow, Sandbox and the runtime cache - The AI SDK, AI Gateway, Chat SDK and eve, for building AI agents and chat bots - Storage (Blob, Neon Postgres, Upstash Redis), auth integrations and Marketplace provisioning - CDN caching, the Vercel Firewall, feature flags, microfrontends and React performance - A map of Vercel's products, with decision guides for choosing between them What else it adds - Specialist agents for deployments, performance and AI architecture - Slash commands to deploy (preview or production), manage environment variables, check project status and bootstrap a project - Vercel's MCP server (mcp.vercel.com), for inspecting projects and logs, creating deployments and updating resources How to install it In Claude Code, run /plugin install vercel@claude-plugins-official. Vercel's own installer is npx plugins add vercel/vercel-plugin, which needs Node.js 18 or later and Bun, and OpenCode uses opencode plugin add github:vercel/vercel-plugin. Good to know It adds session context on its own only in empty folders and in detected Vercel, Next.js or eve projects; otherwise its skills load when you call them. Sign in to the MCP server and grant access to the teams you want before using account tools; buying a domain needs a quote and your explicit approval. It sends usage telemetry (a daily ping and the names of the plugin skills you use, never prompts or code) unless you set VERCEL_PLUGIN_TELEMETRY=off.
