About
Catalyst by Zoho's own agent skills for Catalyst, Zoho's full-stack serverless cloud platform. They're the curated skill files behind Catalyst's AI plugin. As a Gemini CLI extension, they teach your agent Catalyst's services, SDKs, CLI and conventions, so it writes code that deploys with catalyst deploy, and they hand infrastructure work to the Catalyst MCP server when it's connected. What its skills cover - Picking an architecture: a Slate frontend with a function backend by default, and Functions over AppSail for simple HTTP - Functions (all seven types, API Gateway and Security Rules), AppSail (managed runtimes and Docker) and Slate (Git-based frontend hosting) - Data Store with ZCQL, NoSQL, Stratus object storage, Cache, Signals and Job Scheduling - Authentication and Connections (OAuth), and the SDKs for Node.js, Web, Python, Java, Android, iOS and Flutter - Zia Services and QuickML - Cost estimates with free-tier offsets, and moving from AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel, Firebase, Supabase or Heroku How to install it In Gemini CLI, run gemini extensions install https://github.com/catalystbyzoho/agent-skills. The extension also loads CATALYST.md, Catalyst's rules for agents, as context. The same skills install in other agents with npx skills add catalystbyzoho/agent-skills. How it connects To let your agent create tables, run ZCQL queries and manage cache and buckets, connect the Catalyst MCP server. The extension's MCP entry ships with a placeholder: replace it with your server address. That's either Catalyst's global server for your data center (https://catalyst.zohomcp.com/mcp/message in the US), which you authorize in the browser, or a personal server you create at mcp.zoho.com with the Catalyst by Zoho tools. Good to know - The skills work in the Development environment unless you ask for production. - Without the MCP server they still answer questions about services, architecture, pricing and SDKs, but stop before changing a project.
