What Nutmeg does
About
Nutmeg is a community skill pack and Claude Code plugin by withqwerty that makes your agent an expert in football data analytics. Instead of guessing provider details from memory, it looks them up in football-docs, a searchable index of provider documentation, and writes code adapted to your stack. What you can do with it - Get data from Opta, StatsBomb, Wyscout, SportMonks, FBref, Understat and more, and manage API keys - Wrangle event streams, transform coordinates between providers, join datasets and handle large files - Compute metrics such as xG, PPDA, passing networks and expected threat, naming the exact variant it uses - Analyse matches, players and teams, brainstorm visualisations, and review code and charts for football-specific mistakes - Run a research project that shows its work: a question, a plan with reasons, a claim ledger tying every number to evidence, and explainer pages - Fix broken scrapers and pipelines, and learn concepts from xG basics to academic research How it connects - Start with /nutmeg: it sets up a profile of your experience, tools and data access, then routes each request to the right skill - The full Claude Code plugin from the maker's own marketplace (withqwerty/plugins) includes the skills, agents and the football-docs MCP server; npx skills add withqwerty/nutmeg installs the skills only, and you add football-docs yourself (Node.js 22.13 or newer) - Cross-provider player, team and match IDs come from the Reep Register Good to know - Without football-docs, it says it can't check provider facts and labels answers from memory as unverified - It won't write code to get round a site's anti-bot protection; it suggests another source, an official API or a manual export instead - Research projects need Python 3.10 or newer
