# md2wechat

> Turns your Markdown into WeChat Official Account articles: layout, covers and images, checks, and drafts in your account.

md2wechat is an Agent Skill and command-line tool by 极客杰尼 (geekjourneyx) for writing and publishing WeChat Official Account (公众号) articles with your agent. The skill teaches your agent to run the md2wechat CLI, which converts Markdown, makes cover and article images, checks an article before it goes out and saves it to your account's draft box.

What you can do with it
- Lay out a Markdown article for WeChat, preview it and save it as a draft in your Official Account
- Check an article's title, summary, images and cover before you upload anything
- Generate a cover or an infographic for an article with an image service you set up, or with your agent's own image tool
- Get title suggestions, draft in a writer's style, and strip AI-sounding phrasing from a draft
- Save unpublished drafts to Zhihu, CSDN, Toutiao and the Tencent Cloud Developer Community through the browser you're already signed in to

How it works
- The CLI answers in JSON, so your agent can ask what it supports, which themes and layout modules exist and whether an article is ready for a draft before it does anything.
- Uploads and drafts only happen when you ask for them. Your WeChat AppID and secret stay on your machine, and you can name several accounts.
- For the other platforms it prepares the body locally, then your agent fills in each site's normal editor, saves a draft and reopens it to check. It never publishes.

How to install it
- Install the CLI: npm install -g @geekjourneyx/md2wechat, or brew install geekjourneyx/tap/md2wechat.
- In Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add geekjourneyx/md2wechat-skill, then /plugin install md2wechat@md2wechat-tools. OpenClaw users can get it from ClawHub.
- The pack has two versions of the skill: the main one and one tuned for OpenClaw.

Good to know
- Finished WeChat HTML, the 48 pro themes and the advanced layout modules come from md2wechat's paid API. The free mode has 3 basic themes and hands a prompt to your agent to finish the HTML.
- Image generation uses your own provider key (OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, Volcengine and others) unless your agent has its own image tool.
- WeChat only accepts API calls from whitelisted IP addresses, so you'll need to add yours in the WeChat admin console.
- It's source-available: free for personal, non-commercial use; commercial use needs a license from the maker.
