# Master-skill > Study Buddhism with your agent through source-cited personas of historical masters, plus side-by-side comparisons, debates and study paths. A community framework by xr843 that turns historical Buddhist masters into teaching personas for your agent. Each persona answers in its master's voice from declared primary sources and cites them: CBETA numbers for Chinese texts, BDRC and Toh numbers for Tibetan ones, and PTS or SuttaCentral references for Theravāda. Everything it says is generated from historical texts for study and reference. It isn't the masters' own words, and it doesn't replace a living teacher. What's in it - 16 personas across four traditions: Indian (Nāgārjuna), Chinese (Kumārajīva, Zhiyi, Daoxuan, Xuanzang, Huineng, Fazang, Ouyi, Xuyun, Yinguang), Tibetan (Atiśa, Milarepa, Tsongkhapa) and Theravāda (Buddhaghosa, Mahāsi Sayādaw, Ajahn Chah) - compare-masters: several masters answer the same question side by side - master-debate: a multi-round debate on a contested question - master-curriculum: a study path within a tradition - master-help: points you to the right master for your question - create-master: builds a new persona from declared sources How it works - Each persona carries offline excerpts from its core texts, and looks up more passages in FoJin (fojin.app), a Buddhist text library, only when those fall short. - Every doctrinal claim has to cite one of the persona's declared sources, and made-up source IDs are forbidden. - Install everything with npx master-skill install --all, or one master at a time. npx master-skill recommend suggests a master for your question. - The skills' instructions are written mostly in Chinese.
