# itr-wala > File your Indian income tax return with your agent: it reads Form 16 and AIS, compares regimes in tested Python and guides you through it. itr-wala is an open-source skill by Karan Bansal for preparing Indian income tax returns with an agent. The agent reads your documents and interviews you, while tested Python code does every tax calculation, so the numbers don't rest on the model's arithmetic. It covers returns for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) and advance-tax planning for FY 2026-27. What you can do with it - Read your Form 16, AIS, TIS, Form 26AS and broker capital-gains statements (Zerodha, Groww, Upstox), including the encrypted AIS and PDF files - Check your income against your documents and reconcile TDS with 26AS and AIS - Find deductions you may have missed, such as 80C, 80D, NPS, HRA and home-loan interest - Compare the old and new regimes to the rupee, including rebates, marginal relief, surcharge, special rates for capital gains, and interest - Get a filing pack that maps every portal field to its value, then go through the e-filing portal schedule by schedule - Plan advance tax for FY 2026-27: how much to pay next, and by when How it connects - In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add karanb192/itr-wala, then /plugin install itr-wala@itr-wala.
