# FHIR Developer Skills > Teaches your agent FHIR development: R4 and R5 resources, servers and clients, profile validation, SMART on FHIR and FSH guides. PhenoML's FHIR Developer Skills is an Agent Skill for building software on FHIR, the HL7 standard for exchanging healthcare data. It gives your agent working patterns for FHIR R4, R4B and R5 in TypeScript and Python, from modelling resources and running a server to validating against profiles and writing Implementation Guides in FHIR Shorthand. What it teaches your agent - Managing FHIR packages: downloading and caching core packages and Implementation Guides from the FHIR package registry, and indexing their profiles, search parameters and terminology - Modelling resources with Pydantic and fhir.resources in Python, or FHIR types in TypeScript - Building FHIR servers and clients with FastAPI or Express: CRUD, search parameters, _include and _revinclude, batch and transaction Bundles, and OperationOutcome errors - Validating resources against profiles such as US Core, including must-support elements and terminology bindings - SMART on FHIR: OAuth 2.0 app launch, token exchange and scopes - Writing FHIR Shorthand with SUSHI, and converting FHIR JSON to FSH with GoFSH - Unit and integration testing for FHIR APIs What's included - The skill, with reference guides on search parameters, validation, SMART on FHIR, testing and FSH authoring - Templates for a Patient, a vital-signs Observation, a search Bundle and a CapabilityStatement, plus a starter FastAPI FHIR server - A Python script that downloads and indexes FHIR packages, and a TypeScript resource validator How to install it It installs as a Claude Code plugin from PhenoML's own marketplace (PhenoML/ClaudeFHIRSkill), or you can copy its SKILL.md into your skills folder.
