# anything2explainer

> Give your agent a topic and it makes a narrated motion-graphics explainer video, with subtitles and chapters, all drawn in Remotion code.

anything2explainer is Vincent Wei's skill for Claude Code and Codex that turns a topic, article or document into a black-canvas motion-graphics explainer video in Chinese or English. Every frame is drawn in code with Remotion (React and TypeScript): no stock footage and no generative video model. It ships a compilable Remotion template, a library of primitives and lighting, tools for voiceover, storyboarding, rendering and quality checks, written style and motion specs, and a complete reference film as the quality bar.

How it works
- Scaffolds the Remotion project from the template
- Researches the topic, with a source URL for every number and analogy
- Writes the narration, generates the voiceover and turns word timings into a frame-accurate timeline and subtitles
- Storyboards every shot, builds a pilot for you to judge the look, then has parallel agents write one Remotion component per shot
- Renders the film, measures the frames and reviews them against written criteria before delivery
- Stops for you at four checkpoints: length and language, narration sign-off, voiceover, and the first 30 seconds

What you get
- A 1280×720 MP4 with voiceover, word-aligned subtitles, chapter cards and a chapter progress bar
- The full paper trail: a research doc with sources, narration, storyboard, per-shot source and QC reports
- Films of about 2 to 8 minutes. The maker puts a 3 to 5 minute film at roughly 2 hours, mostly agents building shots in parallel

How to install it
Clone github.com/Vincentwei1021/anything2explainer and link it into ~/.claude/skills (Claude Code) or ~/.codex/skills (Codex). You need Node 18 or later, ffmpeg and Python 3. Chinese voiceover defaults to edge-tts (a cloud call to a Microsoft endpoint) and English to kokoro-82m running locally. You can bring your own TTS or finished audio instead.

Good to know
- No GPU needed: Remotion renders on the CPU through headless Chromium.
- Built and checked on macOS; Linux works, including a Raspberry Pi with system Chromium. Windows is untested.
- Plan for 2 to 3 GB of disk per film.
- Noncommercial use of the toolkit is free; commercial use needs the author's permission. The videos you make are yours.
