About
academic-pptx is Gabberflast's Agent Skill for building high-quality academic presentations: conference talks, seminar slides, thesis defenses and grant briefings. It replaces the usual design-forward slide style with communication-first standards for audiences that judge reasoning and evidence. What it does to your slides - Writes every slide title as a complete sentence stating the takeaway (an action title), not a topic label - Structures the deck as a logical argument: situation, complication, resolution, rather than a pile of independent slides - Applies the ghost deck test: the action titles read in sequence should tell the whole story - Puts one exhibit per results slide and annotates the key finding directly on the chart - Applies citation standards: an in-text citation on every borrowed figure and a References slide at the end - Ends on a Conclusions slide that stays up during Q&A, never on a blank or a thank-you - Keeps the design minimal: white backgrounds, one sans-serif font, at most three colours, no decorative icons How it installs - Install the skill with npx skills add Gabberflast/academic-pptx-skill, or upload the repository as a zip under Customize then Skills in claude.ai (code execution and file creation must be enabled). - It governs content, argument and design. The actual .pptx file is created by the companion PPTX skill, which it reads alongside. Good to know - It detects an academic request and loads automatically; you don't need special instructions. - Licensed under a proprietary license (see LICENSE.txt in the repository).
