# Zip-Codes.com MCP

> Lets your agent validate US addresses and look up ZIP Codes, with the census tract, districts, schools and demographics behind them.

Zip-Codes.com's own hosted MCP server for US address and ZIP Code data. Your agent looks answers up from current USPS data and Census boundaries instead of guessing them: it validates a street address and returns its ZIP+4, then adds what you ask for about the area around it.

What you can do with it
- Validate and standardise a US street address, even a messy one-line one, and get its ZIP+4
- Look up a US ZIP Code, ZIP+4, Canadian postal code or latitude and longitude: city, county, area codes, metro area and more
- Add Census geographies, congressional and state legislative districts, school district, time zone and American Community Survey estimates for the census tract or ZIP Code
- Compare then and now, with Census boundaries back to 2010 and survey data back to 2011
- Find every ZIP Code or Canadian postal area within a radius, and measure the distance between two places
- Turn partial or misspelled place names into places it can look up
- Look up counties, metro areas, USPS city naming rules and ZIP Code statistics, and cite where the data comes from

How it connects
Zip-Codes.com hosts it at https://mcp.zip-codes.com/mcp. It's read-only and works without a key in demo mode: the values it shows are real and current, but some deeper fields are withheld. For complete answers, send your Zip-Codes.com API key in the X-Api-Key header, or as a Bearer token. ChatGPT, and Claude connectors without request headers, run in demo mode.

Good to know
- A free key comes with a daily allowance of credits; paid plans and credit packs add more.
- Extra data is opt-in and each addition uses credits, so ask only for what you need.
- Survey estimates describe the census tract or ZIP Code area, never the person at an address, and carry margins of error.
- In demo mode, radius search lists only the nearest matches and place search the first few.
