# Zapier MCP

> Lets your agent send messages, create tasks and update records in the apps you already use, through your Zapier account.

Zapier's own hosted MCP server connects your agent to your Zapier account, so it can take real actions in the apps you already use: send messages, create tasks, update records and look things up. Zapier holds the app sign-ins, so your agent never handles another app's API key, and every call runs through the same app connections as your Zaps.

What you can do with it
- Send emails and Slack messages, or post to a channel
- Create tasks, issues and events in apps such as Asana, Jira, GitHub and Google Calendar
- Find leads and update contacts and deals in a CRM such as HubSpot, or add rows to Google Sheets
- Work across several apps in one request, such as finding a contact in your CRM and then emailing them
- Save a repeatable workflow as a Zapier skill your agent can load later
- With early access, describe a workflow and have your agent build it as a Next Gen Zap

How it connects
Zapier hosts it at https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect, over Streamable HTTP only (no SSE). Most agents sign in with OAuth: you're sent to Zapier to pick an account and allow access, and Zapier sets up your server and turns on actions for the apps already connected to your Zapier account. For your own code, or an agent without OAuth, create a server at mcp.zapier.com and send its connection token as a bearer token. In Gemini CLI, install it with gemini extensions install https://github.com/zapier/zapier-mcp, then run /mcp auth zapier.

Two ways to run it
- Agentic mode, the default: your agent searches for, turns on and runs the actions it needs itself.
- Managed mode: you choose a fixed set of actions at mcp.zapier.com, each becomes its own tool, and the agent can't add more.

Good to know
Each successful tool call uses two tasks from your Zapier plan; failed calls and listing tools don't count. Every call shows in the History tab at mcp.zapier.com. Sharing a server with others needs a Team or Enterprise plan. On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner has to turn on the Zapier connector first.
