# Tolgee

> Manage your app's translations in Tolgee from your agent: search keys, set translations and run machine translation.

Tolgee's own MCP server, built into the Tolgee localization platform. Connect it to your agent and manage a project's translation keys, translations, languages and machine translation in plain words, without leaving your editor.

What you can do with it
- List, search, create, update and delete translation keys, with namespaces, descriptions and tags
- Read a key's translations in every language, and set or update them
- Add languages and check each language's translated and reviewed progress
- Start batch machine translation and follow the job until it finishes
- Store which keys appear together in your code, so machine translation can use related keys as context
- Manage branches on projects that have branching (an enterprise feature)
- With a Personal Access Token, list your projects and create new ones

How it connects
It's hosted at https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer for Tolgee Cloud, and every self-hosted Tolgee instance serves it at /mcp/developer. You connect in one of two ways:
- Sign in with your Tolgee account in the browser, then choose a project and the permissions. Claude Code (2.1.81 or newer) and VS Code support this, and no key is copied anywhere.
- Or pass a Project API Key (tgpak_..., one project) or a Personal Access Token (tgpat_..., every project you can reach) in the X-API-Key header. The install steps on this page use this way.

Good to know
- A sign-in or a Project API Key covers the project tools; listing and creating projects needs a Personal Access Token.
- Deleting keys or branches can't be undone, and the server tells your agent to confirm with you first.
- Tolgee suggests starting with a read-only ask, such as "List my Tolgee projects", to check the connection.

Replace each `<NAME>` placeholder with your own value.

### ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web: Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, then paste https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer under Connection. Business and Enterprise plans; Pro can add read-only servers.

### Claude

In Claude (web or desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer

### Muse

In Muse: In a Muse chat, ask it to create a custom connector for the MCP server at https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer. Then tap Connect on the card it shows and sign in, or add your key.

### Grok Bot

In Grok Bot: In a chat with your Bot, say "Add this MCP server: https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer". It confirms the details with you and sets it up, and the tools are ready from your next message.

### Grok

In Grok on the web: At grok.com/connectors: New Connector → Custom, then enter https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer and sign in if it asks.

### GitHub Copilot

Add to VS Code: vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22tolgee%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fapp.tolgee.io%2Fmcp%2Fdeveloper%22%7D

Copilot CLI:

```shell
copilot mcp add --transport http --header 'X-API-Key: <X-API-Key>' tolgee https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer
```

### Cursor

Add to Cursor: cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=tolgee&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwcC50b2xnZWUuaW8vbWNwL2RldmVsb3BlciIsImhlYWRlcnMiOnsiWC1BUEktS2V5IjoiPFgtQVBJLUtleT4ifX0%3D

Add to .cursor/mcp.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tolgee": {
      "url": "https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer",
      "headers": {
        "X-API-Key": "<X-API-Key>"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Claude Code

Run in your terminal:

```shell
claude mcp add --transport http --header 'X-API-Key: <X-API-Key>' tolgee https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer
```

### Codex

Run in your terminal:

```shell
codex mcp add tolgee --url https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer
```

### Antigravity

gemini mcp add --transport http --header 'X-API-Key: <X-API-Key>' tolgee https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer
```
### Replit
In Replit: At replit.com/integrations, open MCP Servers → + Add MCP server, paste https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer (add any headers under Advanced settings), then click Test & save.
### OpenClaw
Run in your terminal:
```shell
openclaw mcp add tolgee --url https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer --transport streamable-http
```
If it needs a key or sign-in: For https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer, add --header NAME=value for each header it needs, or --auth oauth and then run openclaw mcp login tolgee.
### OpenCode
Run in your terminal:
```shell
opencode mcp add tolgee --url https://app.tolgee.io/mcp/developer
