# ThousandEyes MCP

> Lets your agent check ThousandEyes tests, alerts, events and outages, run instant tests, and manage tests, alert rules and dashboards.

ThousandEyes' own hosted MCP server connects your agent to the ThousandEyes platform, so you can ask about your network and application monitoring in plain words: what you're testing, which alerts and events are active, and which outages happened.

What you can do with it
- List your tests and get the details of any one of them
- Find active events and alerts, and dig into one with its impacted targets, locations and agents
- Search network and application outages
- Run instant tests and read their results while you troubleshoot
- See hop-by-hop network paths and BGP routes, and find anomalies in test data
- Look at Endpoint Agent, Cloud Insights, and Cloud and Enterprise Agent data
- Create, update and delete synthetic tests, alert rules, dashboards and tags, or deploy a template

How it connects
Add https://api.thousandeyes.com/mcp to your agent. Sign in with your ThousandEyes account through OAuth where your agent supports it, or send an API key or OAuth bearer token in an Authorization header. You need the API access permission in ThousandEyes, and usage counts against your API rate limits.

Good to know
- ThousandEyes documents setup for Claude, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Kiro, and Cisco offers a ThousandEyes plugin in the Cursor Marketplace.
- In Claude, its tools come in two groups, read-only and write/delete, each with its own permission.
- Instant tests are live tests and use units, like scheduled tests.
- It's available to ThousandEyes customers at no extra cost. Some tools aren't available on ThousandEyes for Government.
