# Temp Mail

> Lets your agent create temporary email addresses and read what arrives, for testing sign-up emails or keeping your real address private.

Temp Mail's own hosted MCP server connects its API to your agent, so you can ask in plain words for a temporary email address and read the messages that arrive. Temp Mail (temp-mail.io) makes disposable inboxes that keep your real address away from spam, and developers use them to test email features without a pile of test accounts.

What you can do with it
- Create a temporary email address on Temp Mail's domains
- Check an address for new messages, and read them
- Pick up the confirmation link or code while you test your own app's sign-up and verification emails
- Keep your real inbox out of newsletters, trials and one-off downloads

How it connects
Add https://api.temp-mail.io/v1/mcp as a remote (streamable HTTP) server. There's no API key to paste: the first time your agent connects, your browser opens to sign in to Temp Mail and approve access, and the token refreshes itself after that. Temp Mail's guide covers Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot and more.

Good to know
- You need an active Temp Mail Premium account to authorize the server.
- Addresses only receive mail; you can't send from them.
- Addresses expire after a while, and Temp Mail warns against using them for anything important, such as bank accounts.
