# Superpowers

> Skills that make your coding agent brainstorm, plan, test-drive, debug and review its work before it calls the job done.

Superpowers is a skills framework and software development method for coding agents, built by Jesse Vincent (obra) and the team at Prime Radiant. Its skills trigger on their own: before writing code, your agent asks what you're really building, agrees a design with you, writes a plan, then works through it test-first, with reviews along the way.

What its skills teach the agent
- brainstorming: draw out what you actually want through questions, then play it back for correction
- writing-plans and executing-plans: break approved work into small tasks with exact file paths and verification steps
- subagent-driven-development: hand each task to a fresh subagent, with a spec review and a code-quality review after each
- test-driven-development: red, green, refactor, with the failing test written first
- systematic-debugging and verification-before-completion: a four-phase root-cause process, then proof the fix really works
- requesting-code-review and receiving-code-review: review against the plan and report issues by severity
- using-git-worktrees and finishing-a-development-branch: work on an isolated branch, then merge, open a PR, keep or discard it
- writing-skills: create and test new skills
- diagnosing-superpowers: work out what went wrong in a session, with evidence

How to install it
In Claude Code, install it from Anthropic's official marketplace with /plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-official, or add obra's own marketplace with /plugin marketplace add obra/superpowers-marketplace and then /plugin install superpowers@superpowers-marketplace. In Gemini CLI, run gemini extensions install https://github.com/obra/superpowers. The README has steps for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenCode and more.

Good to know
- No sign-in: the skills run inside your agent.
- It's MIT licensed.
- The optional visual companion in brainstorming loads the Prime Radiant logo from its website, which tells it the Superpowers version you use. Set SUPERPOWERS_DISABLE_TELEMETRY to turn that off.
