# SumUp plugin

> SumUp's own plugin: skills that teach your agent to build, test and debug SumUp payments, plus its hosted MCP server for your account.

SumUp's own plugin for building with SumUp. It bundles SumUp's Agent Skills, which teach your agent how to build, test, upgrade and debug SumUp payment integrations, with SumUp's hosted MCP server, so the same agent can also work with your SumUp account. The skills work without connecting an account. It installs as a Claude Code plugin, a Gemini CLI extension, a Codex plugin, a Cursor plugin and a Kiro power.

What its skills cover
- Checkout flows end to end: the Checkouts API, Card Widget, Hosted Checkout, saved cards and recurring payments, 3DS and webhooks
- In-person payments: the iOS and Android reader SDKs, Cloud API checkouts on Solo readers, and Payment Switch
- Choosing the right integration path and security setup, such as an API key, OAuth or restricted keys
- Sandbox testing: test merchants, test cards, deliberate failures and an end-to-end smoke test
- Debugging common failures: webhook signature mismatches, expired checkouts, missing scopes, a Card Widget that won't mount and duplicate checkout references
- Upgrading SumUp API versions and SDKs, from Node.js, Go, Python, PHP, Java, Rust and .NET to iOS, Android and React Native
- Setting up and using the SumUp MCP server

What its MCP server adds
- SumUp's hosted server at https://mcp.sumup.com/mcp: your merchant profile, transactions and refunds, checkouts, customers, payouts and card reader payments, plus SumUp's developer docs.
- It's the same server as the SumUp MCP Server listing. If you install the plugin, use its connection rather than adding the server twice.

How to install it
- Claude Code: claude plugin marketplace add sumup/sumup-skills, then claude plugin install sumup@sumup. It's also in Anthropic's official plugin marketplace.
- Gemini CLI: gemini extensions install https://github.com/sumup/sumup-skills --ref=main
- Codex: codex plugin marketplace add sumup/sumup-skills, then codex plugin add sumup@sumup
- Cursor teams can import the repository into a team marketplace, and Kiro can import it as a custom power. For other agents, install just the skills with npx skills add https://github.com/sumup/sumup-skills.

How sign-in works
- The skills need no account. For the account tools, sign in with SumUp in your browser (OAuth) when prompted: in Claude Code open /mcp, and in Gemini CLI run /mcp auth sumup.

Good to know
- The account tools can move money (checkouts, refunds, card reader payments), so SumUp suggests a sandbox merchant account before you try payment workflows.
- SumUp's suggested first check is read-only: "Use the SumUp MCP tools to show my merchant profile."
