# Revolut X

> Lets Gemini CLI run Revolut's revx CLI for you: Revolut X prices and balances, price alerts, grid backtests and orders you approve.

Revolut's own Gemini CLI extension for Revolut X, its crypto exchange. It adds Revolut's revx skills, which teach Gemini CLI to run the Revolut X command-line tool (revx) for you: look up market data, check your account, set up alerts, backtest grid strategies and place orders.

Crypto is high risk. In Revolut's words: "Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong." Revolut adds that AI may produce errors or inaccurate outputs, that you remain responsible for reviewing and approving all orders before they're placed, and that the API is a complex investment product: automated trades can amplify losses, and managing API keys carries security risks.

What you can do with it
- Check live prices, candles, order books, and the currencies and pairs on Revolut X
- See your balances, transactions, open orders and trade history
- Place, change and cancel market, limit, stop, take-profit and stop-loss orders, each one shown to you to confirm first
- Watch prices and indicators (RSI, EMA crossovers, MACD, Bollinger bands, volume spikes) and get alerts in the terminal or on Telegram
- Backtest and tune a grid strategy on past data, try it as a dry run, or run a grid bot

Install it with: gemini extensions install https://github.com/revolut-engineering/revolut-x-api
The skills need the revx CLI (npm install -g @revolut/revolut-x-cli, with Node.js 20 or later). Run revx configure: it creates an Ed25519 key pair, you register the public key under Profile > API Keys in Revolut X, create an API key with "Allow usage via Revolut X MCP and CLI" ticked, and paste the key back. Your private key stays on your computer, and the CLI talks only to revx.revolut.com.

Good to know
- The skills tell the agent never to place, change or cancel an order, or start a live grid bot, without your explicit confirmation, and to suggest a dry run before a live grid bot.
