# Pyth Pro MCP Server

> Gives your agent Pyth's real-time and historical prices for crypto, equities, FX, metals and commodities, using your Pyth Pro key.

Pyth's own hosted MCP server for Pyth Pro market data. Your agent can look up which price feeds exist, get the latest price, read a past price or every update in a short window, and pull OHLC candles, across crypto, US equities, FX, metals, commodities, rates and more.

What you can do with it
- Search Pyth's catalog of price feeds by asset type, instrument type or name
- Get real-time prices for one or more feeds, with bid, ask, confidence and EMA values where a feed has them
- Read the price at a past moment, or every price update within a window of up to 60 seconds
- Pull candlestick (OHLC) bars, from one-minute to monthly, for charts and analysis
- Convert dates into the Unix timestamps the price tools take

How it connects
Pyth hosts it at https://mcp.pyth.network/mcp over Streamable HTTP. The price tools need your own Pyth Pro access token. Pyth's recommended setup sends it from your agent as an Authorization: Bearer header, so add that header when you connect. If your agent can't send headers, it passes the token on each call instead and asks you for it when it's missing. The server never has a key of its own.

Getting a token
Tokens come from Pyth Terminal, which offers a free trial key with no credit card. Ongoing API access is on Pyth's paid plans, and your plan decides which feeds you can query: a 403 error names the entitlement your plan is missing.

Good to know
- It only reads market data. It can't trade or move funds.
- Listing feeds works without a token, and converting dates never needs one.
- Historical data starts in April 2025.
- It returns market data, not investment or financial advice.
