# PM Data Analytics

> Data analytics skills for product managers: SQL from plain English, cohort retention analysis and A/B test reads with a ship-or-stop call.

A community plugin by Paweł Huryn, author of The Product Compass newsletter, from his PM Skills marketplace (phuryn/pm-skills). It's the data analytics part of that collection: 3 skills that teach your agent to write SQL, analyze cohorts and read A/B tests, and 3 commands that run them as guided workflows.

What its skills cover
- SQL queries: turns a question in plain English into SQL for BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake or SQL Server, reading your schema from a file or a description, with comments, an explanation and performance notes
- Cohort analysis: reads CSV, Excel or JSON user data, works out retention and feature adoption by cohort, charts retention heatmaps and curves, picks out the patterns and suggests follow-up research
- A/B test analysis: checks sample size, test duration and sample ratio mismatch, works out the lift, p-value and confidence interval, checks guardrail metrics, and recommends ship, extend, stop or investigate

- /pm-data-analytics:analyze-cohorts: retention curves, feature adoption and engagement trends from your data, or the SQL and framework to get them
- /pm-data-analytics:analyze-test: a ship, extend or stop call from summary numbers, a CSV or a screenshot from your experimentation platform

How to install it
In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add phuryn/pm-skills, then /plugin install pm-data-analytics@pm-skills. In Claude Cowork, adding the phuryn/pm-skills marketplace from GitHub installs all of its plugins, this one included. Codex CLI installs it from the same marketplace with codex plugin add pm-data-analytics@pm-skills, with the skills but not the slash commands. Other agents can use the skill folders on their own.

Good to know
- It's instructions for your agent, with no server, account or API key.
- It doesn't connect to your database: it writes the SQL and works on the data you share or describe.
- For calculations on raw data it writes Python scripts.
