# Padlet MCP Server

> Lets your agent find, read, create and edit your padlets, from posts and comments to layout and sharing, with your own Padlet permissions.

Padlet's own MCP server, hosted by Padlet, lets your agent find, read, create and edit your padlets in plain language. A padlet is a visual board of posts (text, links, images, video and files) grouped into sections, used by teachers, students and teams. Your agent works as you: it can open the padlets you can open and change the ones you can change, nothing more. It replies with links to the padlets it worked on.

What you can do with it
- Find, read and export padlets, and sum up what's on them
- Create padlets, and create, edit, pin, connect and restore posts and sections
- Add and delete comments, and analyse post attachments
- Change a padlet's layout, wallpaper, appearance, access and collaborators
- Freeze or remake padlets, set up submission forms and automations, and grade posts, with grade sync to your LMS
- For owners, admins and teachers in a Padlet for Schools or Teams library: manage members, invites, sign-in settings and content safety

How it connects
Padlet hosts it at https://mcp.padlet.com/ over streamable HTTP, so there's nothing to install. There's no API key: the first time your agent connects, Padlet opens a sign-in page in your browser, and you sign in and approve it (OAuth). Padlet documents setup for GitHub Copilot in VS Code and for any MCP client that supports streamable HTTP with OAuth. The Copilot cloud agent can't use it yet, because it doesn't support OAuth servers.

Good to know
- For a strictly read-only connection, use https://mcp.padlet.com/read-only. It only finds and reads padlets.
- To load fewer tools, add ?toolsets= to the address, for example https://mcp.padlet.com/?toolsets=core.
- Deleted posts and sections can be restored. Tools that delete or overwrite something are marked as destructive, so agents that honour that can ask you before running them.
- Sandbox (whiteboard) padlets are only partly supported; the other padlet formats are fully supported.
