# Netdata

> Lets your agent explore metrics, alerts, anomalies and logs across every node in your Netdata Cloud space.

Netdata's hosted MCP server for Netdata Cloud. Your agent connects to one endpoint and can reach the monitoring data for every node claimed to your Netdata Cloud space: node details, metrics, alerts and anomaly detection, plus logs and live system functions on nodes behind a Netdata Parent. There's no bridge to install and no firewall to open.

What you can do with it
- Discover your nodes: hardware, operating system, Netdata version and streaming topology
- Search metrics across contexts, instances, dimensions and labels
- Query metrics with aggregations and groupings, with ML-based anomaly detection
- Look for root causes by scoring metrics with anomaly detection and metric correlations
- See active and raised alerts, and the history of alert transitions
- Run Netdata functions such as processes, network-connections and systemd-journal, and explore logs (needs a Netdata Parent)

How it connects
Netdata hosts it at https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp over Streamable HTTP. In Netdata Cloud, go to User Settings, then API Tokens, and create a token with scope:mcp. Your agent sends it as an Authorization: Bearer header. Agents that only speak stdio can reach it through npx mcp-remote.

Good to know
- The Cloud MCP server needs a Netdata Cloud account on a paid plan.
- It only sees nodes claimed to your Netdata Cloud space, and they need to be online and streaming to Cloud.
- Every Netdata Agent and Parent (v2.6.0 and later) also has its own MCP server at http://YOUR_IP:19999/mcp, for when you'd rather connect to one Agent or Parent on your network.

## Install

You'll need:

- `Authorization` (required): Netdata Cloud API token with scope:mcp

Replace each `<NAME>` placeholder with your own value.

### ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web: Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, then paste https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp under Connection. Business and Enterprise plans; Pro can add read-only servers.

### Claude

In Claude (web or desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp

### Muse

In Muse: In a Muse chat, ask it to create a custom connector for the MCP server at https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp. Then tap Connect on the card it shows and sign in, or add your key.

### Grok Bot

In Grok Bot: In a chat with your Bot, say "Add this MCP server: https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp". It confirms the details with you and sets it up, and the tools are ready from your next message.

### Grok

In Grok on the web: At grok.com/connectors: New Connector → Custom, then enter https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp and sign in if it asks.

### GitHub Copilot

Add to VS Code: vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22netdata%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fapp.netdata.cloud%2Fapi%2Fv1%2Fmcp%22%7D

Copilot CLI:

```shell
copilot mcp add --transport http --header 'Authorization: <Authorization>' netdata https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp
```

### Cursor

Add to Cursor: cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=netdata&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwcC5uZXRkYXRhLmNsb3VkL2FwaS92MS9tY3AiLCJoZWFkZXJzIjp7IkF1dGhvcml6YXRpb24iOiI8QXV0aG9yaXphdGlvbj4ifX0%3D

Add to .cursor/mcp.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "netdata": {
      "url": "https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "<Authorization>"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Claude Code

Run in your terminal:

```shell
claude mcp add --transport http --header 'Authorization: <Authorization>' netdata https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp
```

### Codex

Run in your terminal:

```shell
codex mcp add netdata --url https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp
```

### Antigravity

Add to ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "netdata": {
      "url": "https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "<Authorization>"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

```shell
gemini mcp add --transport http --header 'Authorization: <Authorization>' netdata https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp
```

### Replit

In Replit: At replit.com/integrations, open MCP Servers → + Add MCP server, paste https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp (add any headers under Advanced settings), then click Test & save.

### OpenClaw

Run in your terminal:

```shell
openclaw mcp add netdata --url https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp --transport streamable-http
```

If it needs a key or sign-in: For https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp, add --header NAME=value for each header it needs, or --auth oauth and then run openclaw mcp login netdata.

### OpenCode

Run in your terminal:

```shell
opencode mcp add netdata --url https://app.netdata.cloud/api/v1/mcp
```
