# SAP MDK MCP Server

> SAP's MCP server for the Mobile Development Kit: your agent creates, builds, validates and deploys MDK mobile apps using SAP's docs.

SAP's open-source MCP server for the Mobile Development Kit (MDK), the metadata-driven framework on SAP Business Technology Platform for building cross-platform mobile apps. It gives your agent SAP's MDK best practices, context from your project, templates for new projects and access to the MDK CLI tools.

What you can do with it
- Create an MDK project from a CRUD, list-detail or base template, or add entity metadata to an existing one (mdk-create)
- Generate pages, actions and i18n files, and find example JavaScript rules (mdk-gen)
- Build, validate and deploy to SAP Mobile Services, migrate to the latest MDK version and show the onboarding QR code (mdk-manage)
- Search the MDK docs, look up component schemas, properties and examples, and search SAP's MDK tutorial and sample apps (mdk-docs)
- Fetch a Mobile Services destination's OData metadata into your project (mdk-fetch-mobile-metadata)
- Query an app's offline OData store with SAP's ilodata tool from the MDK SDK, for debugging

How it connects
In Claude Code it comes from Anthropic's plugin marketplace, which runs the latest release with npx -y @sap/mdk-mcp-server. The steps here for other agents run version 0.3.7, the one SAP listed in the MCP Registry; SAP's README instead installs the latest with npm install -g @sap/mdk-mcp-server and adds the mdk-mcp command to your agent's MCP settings. SAP documents Cline in VS Code, Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor and Claude Desktop. It needs Node.js 24 (SAP names 24.11.1). Choose the MDK schema version with --schema-version (26.9 by default in the current release).

Signing in to SAP
- Creating a data-bound app, deploying and fetching OData metadata use the Cloud Foundry CLI, so log in to your SAP BTP Cloud Foundry environment with cf login first.
- The project's .service.metadata file, which names your Mobile Services app and destinations, can also come from SAP's Mobile development kit extension for VS Code.

Good to know
- On macOS, releases from 0.4.0 run on Apple silicon only; Intel Macs aren't supported.
- It sends non-personal usage telemetry by default. Turn it off with SAP_UX_FIORI_TOOLS_DISABLE_TELEMETRY=true or in ~/.fioritools/telemetrysettings.json.
- SAP suggests an AGENTS.md rule file telling your agent not to generate .service.metadata or Services XML files, or change .project.json.
