# Lucid MCP

> Lets your agent search, summarize, create and edit your Lucid diagrams and documents, then export or share them.

Lucid's own hosted MCP server connects your agent to your Lucidchart and Lucidspark documents. Ask in plain words and it finds and summarizes what you already have, builds new diagrams, changes shapes in existing ones, and shares or exports the result.

What you can do with it
- Search your Lucid documents for specific content
- Summarize a document's details and action items
- Create diagrams from a description, such as flowcharts, org charts, sequence diagrams and entity relationship diagrams
- Build org charts from a CSV file or text, and UML sequence diagrams from PlantUML
- Edit, add or delete shapes in an existing document
- Export documents as PNG and fetch images attached to shapes
- Create shareable links with the permission level you choose, or share a document by email
- Turn a visual that Claude made into a Lucid document

How it connects
Lucid hosts it at https://mcp.lucid.app/mcp over streamable HTTP. You sign in with OAuth the first time your agent uses it, and it can only reach documents your Lucid account can already open. Team and Enterprise accounts can use a Lucid API key instead, for automations that run without a person there to approve access. Lucid has its own connectors for ChatGPT and Claude, and agents without HTTP support can connect through the mcp-remote package.

Read-only when you want it
https://mcp.lucid.app/mcp/readonly gives your agent search and view-only access. A third address, https://mcp.lucid.app/mcp/repositories, limits it to content in Process Accelerator repositories.

Good to know
- Available on Free, Individual, Team and Enterprise plans, but not on FedRAMP accounts.
- On Team and Enterprise accounts, a Lucid admin has to turn on MCP access first.
- Diagrams it builds from your data are static copies; they don't stay linked to the source.
- Lucid says the server is a pass-through and doesn't keep document content, prompts or queries.
- When Lucid adds a new capability, disconnect and reconnect to pick it up.
