# Linear plugin

> Linear's plugin from Anthropic's directory: adds Linear's hosted MCP server to find, create and update issues, projects and comments.

Linear's plugin in Anthropic's official Claude plugin directory. It adds one thing: Linear's own hosted MCP server, which lets your agent find, create and update issues, projects and comments in your Linear workspace, so you can plan and track work by asking in plain words.

What you can do with it
- Turn a planning document into a project, with issues, milestones and the links between them
- Post standup notes as comments on the issues they're about
- Investigate a bug from its issue, then write the findings back as a comment
- Sum up what a team finished in its last cycle
- Build a timeline of the work around a project, incident or topic
- Draft an implementation plan, then create the parent issue and its sub-issues

How to install it
In Claude Code, run /plugin install linear@claude-plugins-official, or find Linear under /plugin > Discover. The plugin connects to https://mcp.linear.app/mcp, and Linear asks you to sign in with your Linear account the first time your agent uses it.

Good to know
The plugin has no skills or commands of its own: it's Linear's MCP server, packaged for a one-step install. For read-only access, add Linear's https://mcp.linear.app/mcp/readonly address as an MCP server instead. Each sign-in covers one Linear workspace.
