# Klavis Strata

> One MCP server that guides your agent to the right action across the apps you connect in Klavis, step by step instead of all at once.

Strata is Klavis's MCP server for using many apps' tools without flooding your agent with them. Instead of loading every tool up front, your agent works down in steps: it finds the app and category that fit your request, lists the actions in that category, reads one action's details, then runs it.

What you can do with it
- Work across the apps you authorize in Klavis, such as GitHub, Slack, Gmail and Notion, through one connection
- Find the right action for a request by app and category
- Look up an action's parameters before running it
- Run actions such as creating an issue, sending a Slack message or an email, or adding a Notion page
- Search an app's API documentation by keyword when the categories aren't enough
- Get a sign-in link from the chat when an app isn't authorized yet

How it connects
Klavis hosts it, and each Klavis account gets its own Strata URL. Sign in at klavis.ai, authorize the apps you want on the dashboard (most use OAuth, some take an API key), then copy your URL with "Add to Other Clients" (or "Add to Claude"). Use that URL in place of the plain address in the install steps, which only answers with your Klavis credentials. Klavis documents setup for ChatGPT (as a connector, with Developer Mode on), Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and more.

Good to know
- Your Strata URL gives access to the accounts you've connected, so keep it private.
- Klavis turns on every integration by default; you can switch off the ones you don't want on the dashboard.
- Strata is also open source (pipx install strata-mcp) if you'd rather run it yourself with your own MCP servers.
