# Hookdeck Webhook Skills

> Hookdeck's webhook skills for coding agents: verify signatures and handle events from Stripe, Shopify, GitHub and many more providers.

Hookdeck's open-source webhook skills for coding agents, in one Claude Code plugin. Each provider skill teaches your agent how that provider sends webhooks, how to verify their signatures and which events to handle, with runnable handler examples for Express, Next.js and FastAPI. Hookdeck makes webhook infrastructure: the Event Gateway for receiving webhooks and Outpost for sending them.

What its skills cover
- Provider webhooks from Stripe, Shopify, GitHub, Slack, Twilio, PayPal and many more, including support tools such as Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk and Gorgias: dashboard setup, signature verification and the events worth handling
- Handler patterns for any provider: verify first, parse second, handle idempotently, with error handling and retry logic
- Hookdeck's Event Gateway, for guaranteed delivery, retries, replay, rate limiting and filtering without running your own queue
- Hookdeck Outpost, open-source infrastructure for sending webhooks and events to your customers' destinations, such as HTTP, SQS, Pub/Sub or Kafka
- A webhook DX audit that reviews how a platform sends outbound webhooks and scores it, with prioritized recommendations

How to install it
In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add hookdeck/webhook-skills, then /plugin install webhook-skills@webhook-skills for every skill at once. For one provider, install its own plugin instead, such as stripe-webhooks@webhook-skills. Hookdeck also documents Cursor and VS Code Copilot, where npx skills add hookdeck/webhook-skills --skill stripe-webhooks installs just the skills you pick.

Good to know
- The skills are instructions and example code. They don't connect to any account or send anything themselves.
- For local testing they suggest the Hookdeck CLI (npx hookdeck-cli listen), which gives you a public URL that forwards webhooks to localhost, with no account needed.
- Some providers don't sign their webhooks. The Gorgias skill, for example, shows how to check a shared-secret header instead.
