# freehire

> Search open IT jobs crawled from company career boards, read postings, check salaries and track your applications from your agent.

freehire's own MCP server for its job catalogue: IT job postings crawled from company career boards, de-duplicated and tagged by stack, seniority, region and work mode. Your agent can search and read postings and compare salaries, and once you sign in, keep your applications on your freehire board.

What you can do with it
- Search open IT jobs by technology, role, seniority, region or remote work, or describe the job you want in plain words
- Read a posting in full, with the employer and the board it came from, and check whether it's still open
- Find postings similar to one you like
- See salary ranges and market breakdowns for a role, seniority and region
- Look up employers and the jobs they have open
- Signed in: read your saved profile, check your skills against the market, save jobs, mark them applied and move them along your board
- With the local server: also add notes and tailor a CV to a vacancy from your experience bank

How it connects
- Hosted, anonymous and read-only: https://freehire.me/api/v1/mcp. There's no sign-in, and it can search and read but can't save or change anything.
- Hosted, with your account: https://freehire.me/api/v1/mcp/account. Your agent asks you to sign in with freehire.
- Local: npx -y freehire-mcp. It reads the freehire CLI's sign-in from ~/.freehire/creds.json, or a personal API key in FREEHIRE_TOKEN.

Good to know
- You still apply on the employer's site; freehire records that you did.
- The local server's CV tools only cite achievements you stated yourself, never ones the agent inferred.
- freehire, its CLI and its MCP server are free and open source (MIT).
